Sometimes Dive bars are in cool locations. Walk down the stairs a visit a classic bar with reasonable prices and good drinks. Sometime nothing fancy is all you need

History of the Building

A long, long time a go in a far, far, far away place called the 1970’s : July 1st 1971 to be exact. The government decided 18 year olds deserved the right to vote and when that right was granted most states lowered their drinking ages as well.

Like most college towns Burlington saw a rapid increase in bars catering to the new patrons. Many of these bars still exist like Rasputin’s, Nectar’s But many more are gone. My favorite was a bar called the last Chance Saloon. Located in the basement where the Flynn space is, the Chance has many memories for many a UVM and St. Mikes student: and a few forgotten ones.

What Ales you is the last of the original bars that exists in it original form. Alumni from the 70’s through 2010’s will walk down the stairs and see the same familiar place.
